The Collective is quite fitting to host this project. Here is their mission statement: “Alfred Clay Collective, in collaboration with the Division of Ceramic Art will provide a community for ceramic students and interested citizens. The collective will encourage conversation and awareness of the broader ceramic culture, thereby enhancing the studio experience. Scheduled meetings, activities and fundraising initiatives will provide opportunities for guest artists, travel and a venue to cultivate a richer artistic practice.”  Stay tuned for images of the cups in use and creative responses over the next month.

the library has been at Studio for Arts and Works (SAW), Carbondale, CO, hosted by Steven Colby, during the month of October. Here are a few installation shots and images submitted by borrowers. Also, an image of the checkout station, with a smith corona typewriter, date stamp, library cards. It really is a lot of fun. Images of the librarian will be posted soon.

Created in 2002 by potter Alleghany Meadows, the project places art into both physically and conceptually accessible contexts. Artstream has traveled the country from Los Angeles to Providence, Houston to Minneapolis, bringing contemporary ceramic art to streetside locations at museums, universities, art centers, farmers markets and ceramics conferences. The airstream, a gleaming icon of mid-century American design, attracts people who might not otherwise venture into a traditional museum or gallery. Artstream is staffed by artists who are represented in the exhibition, enabling patrons direct interaction with the makers of the objects
